Psychedelic Therapy: Thoughtful, Informed Support for a Different Kind of Healing
Psychedelics are opening new conversations about mental health, trauma and the ways we heal. Emerging research suggests that, when used appropriately and within carefully structured therapeutic contexts, psychedelic experiences may offer meaningful opportunities for psychological exploration and change. But psychedelics are not a shortcut around the work of therapy. The experience itself is only one part of the process; preparation, safety, therapeutic support and what happens afterward can matter deeply.
Our approach to psychedelic therapy is grounded in curiosity without hype. We offer three distinct pathways: Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP), an experiential, body-based approach that can be practiced with or without medicine; Special Access Program (SAP) psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, for eligible clients accessing psychedelic medicines through authorized medical pathways; and Psychedelic Integration Therapy, a harm-reduction approach for people seeking therapeutic support before or after a psychedelic experience. Across all three, our role is to help you approach this work thoughtfully, safely and with greater understanding of what may be unfolding psychologically, emotionally and in your nervous system.
3 Pathways to Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy:
Relational somatic therapy with use of medically monitored Cannabis and Ketamine
Special Access Program
Legal psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy and MDMA-assisted psychotherapy in collaboration with Therapsil and Health Canada
Support and integration therapy for expanded and non-ordinary states of consciousness informed by harm-reduction model
What We Don’t Do!
At our clinic, we embody a evidence-informed, medically-responsible and safety-first stance towards psychedelics. We are not gate keepers, nor psychedelic trip sitters. We do not provide or administer illegal psychedelic substances in therapy, and we do not offer information on where to access or buy controlled substances. We cannot recommend, promote or advise regarding non-prescribed and non-legal psychedelic use.
The research indicates that when used safely, with adequate preparation and for certain mental health challenges, psychedelics can be transformative. However, we are in an era, when TV shows, social media and news articles are characterizing mind altering substances as quick fixes for anxiety, depression and trauma. This depiction is both unrealistic and irresponsible. Best-practice research indicates that the most helpful outcomes of psychedelics come from using them with guidance of informed therapists as well as safe and intentionally cured settings.
Since both our mind and our body remembers difficult events, good therapy must go beyond just talk. The neuroscience research of trauma and attachment now offers other possibilities. Our psychotherapy and counseling services in Vaughan, Woodbridge, Thornhill & Richmond Hill offer a new path forward and away from emotional pain.
